Auctioned Off

I have a testimony. This morning when I woke up, I had an awful cramp in my leg. Thank the Lord He took it away from me!

Yesterday, some of my family went to an auction. The auction was because a friend of ours named Jack passed away several months ago at the age of 91 or 92… I can’t quite remember. But a little bio on him, he was a POW (prisoner of war) in WW2. He had some very interesting stories! I’ll have to tell you a few of them sometime.

The main reason I wanted to go to the auction was because there was an older violin. And since I’m taking violin lessons, I’d like to have my own instead of borrowing the teacher’s all the time…

Before the violin was auctioned, a double-necked guitar was sold for $800! I don’t have even a quarter of that, so I really prayed that if it was the Lord’s will for me to get it that it would be much cheaper than that! I was willing to let it go if it went for more than I could pay, but I would’ve been a bit disappointed. Thank the Lord He provided that violin for me! It needs new strings and maybe a new bow if it can’t be restored, but I am very grateful God gave me a nice violin.

Personally, I don’t like the inside of the case, but hey, I’m just thankful I got it!

As if that wasn’t enough, Jack had an old player piano that survived a big tornado almost thirty years ago!  No one bid on it, and I couldn’t let that go to waste so I got it for $25! Lord willing, we will switch it out with our other piano and get it tuned.

For those of you who don’t know what a player piano is, it’s a piano (obviously) that you can put a roll into and it makes the piano play by itself. I can also play it like a normal piano. Here is a picture of the rolls I can put in the player piano.

Then we left to have a church cleanup. There were only thirteen people that showed up, and that’s including a baby and four others younger than twelve. Yeah… So we got a little bit done.

Today, we have a graduation party to attend. It is for four cousins in one party. Pretty cool, huh? I am praying for nice weather. So far, so good!

Awe, man was Wednesday night’s sermon good! The Lord has really been speaking through the services in a mighty way, lately! God is so awesome! “More Than Conquerors Part 5″(maybe 6). In a quick summary, our pastor preached that “To be a mighty conqueror, you must not fear! Be strong and courageous (Joshua 1:9). Did you know that fear is unbelief in God’s Word? Unbelief is sinning against God. There are 2 attitudes toward God: Faith and fear. Faith works, while fear is worthless! What good does fear ever do you? It always makes you feel worse, and unconfident. Faith, however, is bold and doubt cannot stand in the way! Don’t be afraid, only believe!”

Did you notice that the Love Series that I have been doing can easily tie in with that? The Bible says in 1 John 4:18, “There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.” Also, in 1 John 4:16, it says, “And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.”

If God dwells inside of you, and you in God, you are love because God is love! I’ll try to untangle the knots next time to try to show you with the Lord’s help, what that verse means. I love to dissect the Scriptures, and see what it means.

So if we can only get the perfect love down, you won’t ever have to fear!  Doesn’t that sound wonderful?!

Do you like to go to auctions? Have you started any kind of collection?
